As we start a new year, I thought I’d take a little inventory of some of the pretty things currently making my home a happy place. It’s a little Oprah’s Favorite Things without the confetti or the car giveaways. Sorry.
Oh Happy Day – Y’all know I love my home bloggers and Jordan is one of the best. Every post is casually written and beautifully photographed. I look forward to her posts each day not only for decor, party planning and general prettiness, but also inspiration for becoming a better blogger.
West Elm Favorite Throw (Slate) – I am always cold. Expect for when I’m burning up. There’s really no middle ground. That is why I love this blanket. It’s warm and cozy, but thin enough to stay wrapped up in for awhile. I’ve even been known to throw it around my shoulders shawl-style while walking around the house. It’s a grown-up security blanket that also chics up my bed. Chics up? Is that a phrase? It should be. (PS. The Favorite Throw is on sale right now! I highly recommend you buy yourself a Monday morning present.)

White Frames – Modern, antique, square, round – if it’s a frame, I’m all over it these days. They don’t even have to be white – that is why God invented spray paint. I am in the midst of building a gallery wall (I can’t wait to share pictures with y’all!) and I’m in Phase 1 – frame hoarding. I’m going for an eclectic mix, but I want to pull it all together by painting every frame white. So for the next few weeks, I’ll be the girl at Goodwill, filling my cart in Housewares.
The Oprah Winfrey Show: Reflections on an American Legacy – Y’all, I love Oprah. I realize this may divide my oh-so-small audience, but I do and I’m standing by it. I get that she can be a bit over the top at times, but I love that she is a self-made woman who has helped so many people realize the importance of owning their lives. If you’re a fan like me, check it out. Bonus: The cover is striking and looks good on a coffee table or nightstand.
Clean Eating Mama – Here’s another current blog crush to round out the list. It’s not a home decor blog, but healthy food makes happy people…and happy people make pretty homes. Tasha has some great, realistic recipe ideas. I’m not a 100% clean eater (I’m not sure anyone has the time or money to completely eliminate processed food from their diet), but I’ve been learning about where our food comes from and consciously making tweaks. I can honestly say I feel a difference, especially in the energy department. And more energy means more crazy DIY projects. That, my friends, is a win-win-win.
thanks for pointing out oh happy day! i love it!
Thanks for the comment! I love Oh Happy Day!
Ooooh, those throw blankets are the prettiest colors!
I know! I want one in every color!
